Gao's performance 'Neo-relation' is an emergent reflection of the relationship between bodies (gallery as body). He does so through various 3D modelling programmes and manipulating The National Gallery's blueprints into his own interpretations by first recreating it as is and then dislocating the structures randomly to reassemble as a new architecture. His references to the space in relation to body is through its architectural intention of connecting three different historical contexts and their linguistic expressions in combination to his own practice. In this sense, the gallery has its own agency via how objects and construct interact with each other. His work is in itself a hybrid series of traditional dualistic models of nature/society/mind/body and so forth.
